HISTORY
The Toyota GR010 Hybrid was developed by Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe as the successor to the dominant TS050 Hybrid, debuting in 2021 under the new Le Mans Hypercar regulations. Powered by a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 paired with a front-axle hybrid motor for four-wheel drive, the GR010 won all six races in its debut season and went on to claim four consecutive WEC titles from 2021 to 2024, including three straight victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Its dominant run ended in 2025 when Ferrari took both titles, prompting Toyota to develop a major aerodynamic and styling overhaul for 2026. That update arrived under a new name, the TR010 Hybrid, following the team's rebrand from Toyota Gazoo Racing to Toyota Racing.

2026 CAR NOTES
The GR010 Hybrid was Toyota's longest-serving Hypercar, racing largely unchanged for four seasons before receiving its most significant update yet. The 2026 aero package borrows styling cues from Toyota's road car lineup, including the Crown and Prius, marking the first time Toyota's design department directly shaped the car's appearance. Under Balance of Performance rules, output is capped near 670hp regardless of the car's true potential. At the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, the revised car, running as the TR010 Hybrid, held off BMW and Cadillac to secure Toyota's third win at the event in six years.
