History
Aston Martin first entered Formula One in 1959 with the DBR4 chassis but left after 1960 without scoring points. The marque returned to F1 in 2021 following Lawrence Stroll’s commercial rebranding of Racing Point. Now competing as Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, the Silverstone-based outfit became a full works team in 2026, starting an exclusive partnership with Honda for power units. 2026 marks the team’s biggest reset, with Adrian Newey joining as Managing Technical Partner & Team Principal to lead the AMR26 design.

2026 Car Notes
The AMR26 is Adrian Newey’s first Aston Martin design, built for F1’s new 2026 regulations with 50/50 combustion-electric power and active aerodynamics. Honda provides bespoke RA626H power units and Aramco supplies 100% Advanced Sustainable Fuel. The team started wind tunnel work 4 months late but the car drew attention in testing for its “extreme” suspension and tightly packed sidepods.
