HISTORY
The Red Bull Racing RB19 was unveiled in New York City on 3 February 2023, representing the second year of the ground effect era and the return of Honda as a named engine supplier to Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri, badged as Honda RBPT. Designed under the technical direction of Adrian Newey, the RB19 built upon the dominant RB18 concept, with Newey himself admitting it was a "complete surprise" that the team could design a car so extraordinarily dominant. The car was driven by defending world champion Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez throughout the twenty-two race 2023 season. From the opening race at Bahrain through the season finale in Abu Dhabi, the RB19 proved nearly unstoppable, setting multiple records and establishing itself as one of the most dominant cars in Formula 1 history. Verstappen clinched the drivers' title in Qatar with four races remaining, whilst the team secured the constructors' championship by an unprecedented 451-point margin over second-place Mercedes.

2023 CAR NOTES
The RB19 broke F1 records across the board: most consecutive wins by a manufacturer (four), most points in a season (860), and Max Verstappen's nineteen victories in a single season surpassed Vettel's previous record of thirteen. The car featured aggressive aerodynamic refinement, with updates introduced throughout the season via new aero parts and suspension tweaks, yet the baseline design proved so fundamentally superior that improvements were marginal. The Honda RBPT power unit delivered unprecedented reliability and output, whilst the chassis balanced razor-sharp handling in qualifying trim with stable, predictable balance across long race distances. Adrian Newey's design philosophy prioritised extracting maximum performance from ground effect aerodynamics whilst maintaining mechanical balance through corners. The RB19 won from its first race and proved nearly unbeatable, with only two retirements preventing a perfect season. Its 451-point margin over Mercedes represents one of sport's most complete dominance displays.
