Classic Ambassador
Exhibit Description
India's own national car, the Ambassador was born from the 1956 Morris Oxford and produced in Uttarpara, West Bengal until 2014 — making it one of the longest-running car models in history. It was the default taxi, government vehicle, and family chariot of three generations of Indians. It was so sturdy that mechanics across the country could fix it with spare parts from a hardware store.
