Exhibit Description

The G-Wagon was designed in 1979 for the Iranian Imperial Army (the Shah commissioned it) and has barely changed its boxy silhouette since. The 4x4² takes the already-absurd G-Class and adds portal axles — a technology borrowed from unimog trucks — that raises the vehicle so high it can be driven through water that would stop most boats. It looks like a building that decided to become a car and nobody argued.

Curator Note

This is the trophy piece of your off-road collection. The G-Wagon needs a slightly elevated display stand — it's already trying to be higher than everything around it. Work with that.
