Ford Raptor

Exhibit Description

The Raptor was designed to do Baja 1000-style desert racing at 100 mph and somehow became a road-legal production vehicle sold at Ford dealerships. Its FOX Racing Shox suspension system absorbs the kind of impacts that would break standard trucks and its high-output twin-turbo V6 makes 392 bhp. The R variant adds a supercharged V8 making 700 bhp. Ford looked at pickup trucks and decided they were not violent enough.

Curator Note

The Raptor at full size commands a road. At diecast scale, it still does. Display it pointing slightly outward on your shelf, like it's making an exit. That's accurate to the vibe.
